An investment in the future
Hey Journal

I've been giving it much thought for the past 11 years and I've decided that I'm actually going to try to do this. All my life I've been obese and I'm personally getting sick of it. Starting very soon *I'm eating pizza right now, so it obviously can't start right now* I'm going to actively attempt to lose weight become healthy.  As much as it sucks in my head, I've been told by quite a few people that running in the cold is the best way to lose weight, cause your body burns the fat to stay warm. Also as soon as second semester starts, I'm going to stop slacking and finish my recumbent bike. I've been reworking the plans so that things are a bit more realistic, but I still plan on making it in a satisfying way.

I also need to get a job, finish school, and stop trying to half-ass my way through life. That type of shit only works with Paris Hilton. I'm making a deadline that by April, I will have lost at least 10 pounds *which is only a dent in my current weight of 300+ Lbs, but a dent is better than nothing*, finished building my bike, and be working part time somewhere fixing bikes and saving money until I have enough to move out and rent an apartment together. That's the plan, and this time, I'm not going to deviate from it.

Also, since I'm too tired to shoehorn this in somewhere, I'm not really interested in turning into a model or some shit, I'm just interested in weighing a little less and gaining a bit of muscle. I've also been very interested in parkour ever since I was a child, and it would just be the bee's knees if I could learn to do a trick or two ^^;;

As soon as I finish this pizza, I'm going to go for a walk somewhere FAAARRR

ALSO, if anyone who reads this has any advice for me at all I would greatly appreciate it because I'm an ignorant fucking retard when it comes to being physically active. I've had dietitian after dietitian preach at me, so I have a general grasp on how to feed myself, as well as a few tricks of the trade that I've learned along the way, but yeah

brb pizza

I have some bits of advice, but first I will commend you for your approach to this. By setting a realistic goal, you avoid one of the biggest pit-falls that so many make. It is important that never lose site of keeping your goals realistic and reasonable.

Food intake is important, but since you've had a lot of preaching in that department, I'll leave that alone. Keeping active can be challenging depending on environment, so I'll throw out some general ideas and suggestions.

If you have a backpack, see if you can get a couple of small hardback books to add to your load while at school or wherever you take it. (Be gradual)

If your school has a weight-room, a weight-lifting class, or anything of that sort you may want to look into it. Also, if there is a community health facility that has workout equipment that could work as well. (Commercial gyms tend to be more expensive and some may try to pressure you into personal training programs that yank more out of your wallet than your waist). I can provide more information and links if this is a plausible situation to you.

Carrying buckets of water up and down stairs can work as well, but I suggest you start off light and slow and work your way up.

As a last tip: When you have more muscle mass, it is easier lose body-fat.
